2024 Wine Without Borders Grenache Rosé

Wine Without Borders strives to grow the world's most interesting wines, despite these varietals not being household names.This rosé was grown and hand harvested from the Kent family's head-pruned Peppertree Vineyard. Just as a Provençal vineyard would experience both warm sunshine and the bracing Mistral winds, Peppertree Vineyard experiences ample sun and the famous winds that power the historic Altamont wind farms, visible on the foothills above the vineyard.

This dry rosé is made in the style of the Provencal pinks of southern France, which prioritize nuance and refreshment above all else. Swirl it in your glass to reveal subtle aromas of almond blossom, rose petals, summer grasses and strawberry. It’s hard to believe that a wine so dry could feel so supple: winemaker Julian Halasz has achieved a masterful balance of acidity and mouthfeel. The strawberry note proceeds through each sip through the finish, where it is joined by a kiwi note that lingers through the finish.
