2022 "Darcie" Cabernet Sauvignon

This 100% estate grown Cab comes from a microclimate that UC Davis has declared as being extremely similar to Napa: hillside vineyard sites on well draining soils, kissed by Pacific fog, featuring an intense diurnal swing. That means a warm, sunny growing season offset by chilly nights, preserving the complexity and acidity of each opulent berry of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Darcie and her family believe in creating a perfect match between terroir and varietal. Working side by side with master winemaker Julian Halasz, Darcie and her family planted the heritage “Clone 30” Cabernet Sauvignon for its opulent black fruit flavors, and was matured in 100% French Oak barrels.  

The nose is an enticing mix of damson plum, blackberry, and cocoa powder, with a hint of meatiness and a dash of mulling spices. Well-integrated, “smooth” tannins create a subtly textured mouthfeel, and the savory quality re-emerges, intermingled with notes of dried black cherry, all spice, and dried garden herbs.
